cantilever stone staircase

This set of solid portland stone cantilever steps is at 50% scale. The supports for these could be produced in several differing ways above below or unseen completely. We believe this to be the first time that they have been produced to work without a supporting wall.
Please see our Guernsey staircase for developments on this idea, also see the Maida Vale staircase.

All of these pictures were taken at our Grand Design Live showstand in 2008. The set of stairs consist of 19 treads with a turn of 90 degrees at the top end. We have since produced steps and winders with qtr and half landings for properties in Mayfair London.

Our staircase fitted in Guernsey nov 2009 moves on from this with no support at all please view from the home page of architectural work.
