SOLID PORTLAND STONE STEPS AND COPINGS

All of this work was carved or turned from solid stone. We have at our site in Somerset a lathe that can turn columns up to 2.8mtrs in length by 600mm in diameter. These would generally be turned in smaller sections but could be at this size if the stone were available. These balustrades are obviously much smaller than that as we can turn any size below the ones mentioned again depending on the stone used.
